Completing the application process can be very time-consuming. The application requires many supporting documents that have to be attached and completed in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB). Incomplete applications will be rejected by the NSCB, which can certainly delay the processing of your application.

The American Contractors Institute has extensive experience with the application process and can direct you through the process, which will better ensure that your application is filled out properly, submitted in the format required by the NSCB, and received by the NSCB as a complete application for official review.

Some of the application documents required by the NSCB include:

  1. Completed Application

  2. Application Fee

  3. Four (4) Reference Certificates (in support of your experience)

  4. A Detailed Resume of Experience (must outline your previous trade and work experience)

  5. Educational Background (must be substantiated if you are claiming your education to fulfill part of the work experience requirements)

  6. Waiver Form (for waiver of the trade examination requirement based on reciprocal agreements with Arizona, Utah or California)

  7. Financial Statements (in the proper format required by the NSCB based on the monetary limit you are requesting for the state contractor license)

  8. Completed Out-of-State License Verification Form (for Reciprocity)

  9. Completed Background Disclosure Statements

The American Contractors Institute has a staff accountant (Certified Public Accountant) that can directly assist you with preparing and submitting reviewed and audited financial statements in the acceptable format required by the NSCB.

The NSCB will assign a license analyst to your application once your completed application has been received, reviewed and accepted by the NSCB.  Your analyst will review your application to ensure that it meets Nevada state law and the policies of the NSCB.  If your application is approved by the NSCB, you will receive a letter from the NSCB advising you that you are eligible to schedule the Contractor Management Survey Examination and your respective Trade Examination.
